80th Birthday

This was for a surprise 80th birthday party. I was told the birthday girl loves green and they were going to decorate with polka dots. It was a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and marshmallow fondant polka dots.

30th Birthday

This is the year that I turn 30. It's also the year a lot of my friends turn 30. This is the second 30th birthday cake I've made this year for a friend. The birthday girl loves the show FRIENDS (but who doesn't?!), so she had a FRIENDS themed party and requested that her cake go with the theme. It was vanilla pound cake with vanilla frosting, and she loved it!

Baby Dedication

This was for a baby girl's baby dedication. They asked if I could make the cake in the shape of a cross and decorate it very girl. I love pink, so I really enjoyed making this cake. It was almond pound cake with vanilla frosting.

60th Anniversary

I was asked to make an anniversary cake for a 60th anniversary dinner. They didn't need anything very big, but they wanted simple flavors with wedding cake type of decorating. The cake was almond pound cake with vanilla frosting.

Ruffle Cake

One of my husband's coworkers asked me to make a cake for his wife's birthday. He said it didn't want it to be too girly and other than that I could decorate it however I wanted. I've been wanting to try a vertical ruffle technique, but just haven't had a chance, so I jumped at this opportunity. It was white cake with vanilla frosting.

Rosette Cake

I have a friend who orders cakes from me regularly. She tells me what flavors she'd like and maybe some colors she'd like me to use and that's about it. This cake was for her mother and daughter, so I wanted to do something really girly and pretty. I loved how this cake turned out. It was almond pound cake with vanilla frosting and the writing was on a piece of marshmallow fondant.

Kite Cake

I offered to make the birthday cake for the daughter of some of our friends. The theme was pinwheels and kites in bright spring colors. I had a blast making this cake and loved that it gave me a chance to make a tiered cake. It was chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and the kites were made of marshmallow fondant.
