Fun Birthday Cake

I had a family friend ask if I could make a birthday cake for her daughter. She said yellow cake with chocolate frosting, but she didn't care how it was decorated. I wanted to use bright colors, because I knew they'd look good on the chocolate. This cake was a lot of fun to make, and I think it's actually my favorite I've made in a while!

Easter Egg Hunt Cake

Here is another cake where I was given very few guidelines (which I love!). It was for an Easter Egg hunt birthday party for a little boy. She said she'd like for it to have bunnies, carrots, or eggs on it. It's a white cake with vanilla buttercream frosting and malted milk ball eggs.

Nautical Baby Shower Cake

Nautical themed baby showers seem to be really popular right now, but this was the first time I'd been asked to make a cake for one. My customer did what I love, she told me the theme and the colors she'd like for me to use and let me come up with how I wanted to decorate it. I'd originally planned to have fondant life preservers on it as well, but my fondant thought otherwise, but I thought it still turned out great! It was vanilla pound cake with buttercream frosting and marshmallow fondant decorations.
